Phone Freedom

TalkSwitch systems support traditional analog phones and IP telephones that plug into your data network, rather than into a phone jack. Plus, you can use third-party phones.

You're free to choose the phones you want. You can go for the advanced features of IP phones or stick to the classic simplicity of analog, or even mix the two. TalkSwitch analog and IP phones are built to work seamlessly with the system.

TalkSwitch also works with standard analog and selected IP phones made by other manufacturers. Have telephones already? You can use them. Cost-conscious? You can find inexpensive sets. Prefer to use a specific brand, cordless phone, soft phone or one with special functions? With TalkSwitch, you buy the phones you want.

Supported IP phones

To ensure interoperability with the best IP phones, TalkSwitch uses the industry-leading SIP standard for IP-based telephony. For best performance, we've tested the following IP phones for use with TalkSwitch. Keep an eye on this list — we'll be adding new phones as we test them.
  • Polycom IP 301, IP 320, IP 330, IP 430, IP 501, IP 550, IP 601 and IP 650 running boot ROM version 3.2.2.xxxx, and firmware application (SIP) version 2.1.2.0078.
  • Grandstream GXP2000 and GPX2020 running boot ROM version 1.1.1.5 or greater, and firmware application version 1.1.4.18.
  • Counterpath eyeBeam softphone version 1.5.xx.x.
Some TalkSwitch features may work slightly differently with different phones. Specific firmware versions for each phone are supported.
