TalkSwitch Configuration Software Release 5.00 for the United States
and Canada
Release 5.00 is an update for TalkSwitch VS and CA/CVA products that introduces powerful new features
to expand and enhance your TalkSwitch system. See the New Features section below for details.
This release is intended only for use in the United States and Canada.
WARNING: This software must not be used, and is not supported, for
TalkSwitch 48-NLS or TalkSwitch 24 units. This software must not be used, and
is not supported, in other markets. The application of this software update to
TalkSwitch 48-NLS or TalkSwitch 24 units, or units in use outside the United
States and Canada invalidates any warranty, and may result in a situation where
the product's original software may not be recoverable.
Release 5.00 is an update to releases 3.24, 4.0x and 4.1x. If your system
is equipped with 3.24.33 or later firmware, you should proceed to update using
the Rel 5.00 link below.
If you have TalkSwitch CA/CVA and/or VS models, and are using a TalkSwitch software version number less than 3.24.033, click here to download 3.24.033 software (only if needed),
then use the software to update the TalkSwitch firmware to 3.24.29, before installing 5.00.

New Features
Release 5.00 provides options to dramatically expand the number of extensions, lines and capabilities of TalkSwitch systems equipped with IP sets.
In addition, the release offers upgrades to resources and performance for all systems equipped with TalkSwitch VS, CVA or CA models.
TalkSwitch IP Phone Sets*:
The new TS-480i, TS-9133i and TS-9112i IP phone sets set the new standard in features and flexibility for your extensions. Support for these sets is fully integrated into the configuration software, which also automatically configures these sets once they're installed.
Line Appearances on TalkSwitch IP Sets*:
See which lines are available or in use, right on your TalkSwitch IP set. Customize which lines to view for each extension, and set-up IP set function keys directly from the TalkSwitch configuration software. Unbeatable convenience, flexibility and ease-of-use.
This feature applies to the following phone models: TS 9133i and TS 480i .
External IP Extensions (Teleworker)*:
Expand the range of extensions on your TalkSwitch system to include IP sets at remote locations - perfect for teleworkers. Rel 5.00 enables registration of IP sets on the WAN side of your network, with the ease-of-installation and technical options to suit your needs.
More Local IP Extensions*:
Add IP phones to expand the number of local extensions to as many as 16 sets per unit. Double or triple the number of TalkSwitch users instantly, no purchase required.
Multiple Language Prompts:
Operating in a multi-lingual environment? You can now load two pre-recorded prompt languages onto your TalkSwitch system, and select your language of preference for each extension.
Expanded Voicemail Capacity (VS Models):
Rel 5.0 expands the memory available for voicemail, announcements and music-on-hold on your TalkSwitch VS unit(s) to 2 hours/unit.
Support for new TalkSwitch VS Models:
With the introduction of the new TalkSwitch 840vs, 844vs and 848vs models, TalkSwitch systems provide bigger and better options than ever to match your needs. VoIP users can double their call capacity with the new TalKSwitch 248vs, 288vs and 488vs models. Release 5.00 is mandatory for new models, and fully supports the complete line of TalkSwitch VS, CA and CVA models.
IP Set Conferencing*:
You can now use your IP set to initiate and manage conference calls with multiple parties (3-way).
Home Location Code (flat dial plan):
You now have the option to simplify the system dial plan (system phone numbers) for a multi-station environment.

- Improvements made to interoperability with SIP-aware routers.

- Improved call control from TalkSwitch Attendant Console.

There is currently no formal support for Windows 2003 Server.
There is currently no support for Mac OS or Linux operating systems.
There is no support for operating systems no longer supported by Microsoft,
such as Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows 95.
