Download and Installation Instructions
TalkSwitch Attendant Console provides two components: Attendant
Console Communications Manager (server) and Attendant Console Client.
Only one instance of the Attendant Console Communications Manager (server) is required to support all clients in a
single TalkSwitch system location. The Communications Manager can be installed on any computer with access to the TalkSwitch system.
It is strongly recommended that Communications Manager be installed on a computer that runs continuously,
as the clients depend on information provided by the Communications Manager.
The Attendant Console Client can be installed on any computer connected to the same network (LAN or WAN) as the computer
running the Attendant Console Communications Manager application. The Client application is suitable for anyone with an extension
on the TalkSwitch system that needs to monitor and/or control calls directly from their PC.
Installing Communications Manager (server) software
Step 1: Ensure you have updated your TalkSwitch VS, 48-CVA, or 48-CA system to Release 5.00 or later software.
We strongly recommend that you update to the latest available TalkSwitch software version for your region.
If you are using a TalkSwitch 48-NLS, TalkSwitch 24 or TalkSwitch 24-CA model, DO NOT install this software as it is not compatible with those models.

Step 2: Connect your TalkSwitch system to a PC meeting the minimum operating requirements for the Communications Manager.
Step 3: Download the Attendant Console Application to the PC connected to the TalkSwitch system.
Note: There are 2 installation versions of the software. One includes the Communications Manager (server) and client applications,
while the other is a client-only version for installation on the PCs of other Attendant Console users on your TalkSwitch system.

Step 6: Installation options are presented in the subsequent windows.
Use the 'Next' button to proceed through the installation of the Attendant Console Communications Manager.
When the installation is complete, activate the Run Communications Manager Configuration checkbox and select the 'Finish' button.

Configuring Communications Manager (server)
Step 7: When the TalkSwitch Attendant Console Communications Manager launches, an administration window will appear.
In the 'TalkSwitch IP:' field enter the IP address of your TalkSwitch unit (if multiple units on a LAN, use the IP address of unit 1).
Select the ‘Connect’ button.

Step 8: An activation window will appear. If you have an activation key, paste or type the key code in the 'Activation Key:' field.
You also have the option to Activate a one-time 30-day demo version of Attendant Console, using the 'Activate Demo' button.

Step 9: Once connected to TalkSwitch, use the ‘Help’ button for detailed instructions on setting up the Communications Manager for
use with the Attendant Console clients. You will need to add users and set optional passwords before clients can register.

Step 10: Select the User Permissions tab.
Use the 'Add' or 'Add All' button to give extensions access to Attendant Console to monitor, make and manage calls.
At least one of the extensions should be designated as an Administrator (typically the TalkSwitch phone system Administrator).

Installing and Configuring Attendant Console Clients
Step 11: On the PC of any TalkSwitch system user who intends to use Attendant Console, download the Attendant Console Client application.
Step 12: Run the client software.
The software will search the network to find the Communications Manager for your TalkSwitch system.

Step 13: When the client is connected to the Communications Manager a login screen will appear.
Enter the extension number of the phone associated to that user, enter a password (if required).
When done, select ‘Connect’.

Step 14: An Attendant Console window will open to show the current status of all lines and extensions.
Use the menus to select exactly which lines and extensions to view, as well as options for display and notification. Consult the integrated Help resources to learn about all of the powerful features under your control.
Congratulations! Your TalkSwitch Attendant Console is now available for any user of your TalkSwitch system to monitor, make and manage calls.
