TalkSwitch Configuration Software for the United States and Canada


Release 6.12.067 is a free, highly-recommended update for TalkSwitch VS, CVA or CA phone systems operating in the United States and Canada. See the New Features list for why we strongly advise installers and customers to update to this version.

This release is supported for computers meeting the PC specifications.

Not all lines are created equal, especially in the IP telephony world. TalkSwitch Line Optimizer provides the right set-up, even for complex installations.

Support for two exceptional new phones:
6.12 supports two new IP phones, the TalkSwitch TS-350i and TS-550i.

These sophisticated, easy-to-use phones feature crystal-clear sound and exceptional speakerphones. They have big, bright multicolor programmable appearance keys for one-touch access to lines, extensions, queues, voicemail, system speed dials, call park/unpark, call pickup, PA paging and more, for key-system type operation.

Automatic VoIP service provider configuration:
TalkSwitch makes setting up a VoIP account easier than ever by automatically completing most of the configuration needed to register with approved Service Providers. Once you've input your account-specific information, TalkSwitch software takes care of the rest.

Windows 7 compatible for network-connected TalkSwitch systems:
If you connect to your TalkSwitch system via your local area network and you've upgraded to Windows 7, you'll need this latest version of TalkSwitch software. Note: USB connection to TalkSwitch is not presently supported for Windows 64-bit operating systems.

Updated built-in help files:
All the information you need to configure your TalkSwitch phone system is built in to each page of software. Click the help icon on any page to get all your answers and more.

Note: 6.12 is a required update for future software releases:
To continue receiving free TalkSwitch software updates containing new features and product improvements, your system will require Release 6.12.

Improvements over the previous version 6.12.065 (Jan 05/10) include ongoing performance enhancements based on customer feedback and field reports, and updated Help files.

Recommended PC System Specifications


Ensure that this software is installed on a PC meeting the system specifications listed below. Installing this program on a PC that does not meet these specifications will cause this program to operate poorly and may slow the operation of other programs on your computer.
  • The following fully updated Windows 32-bit operating systems: XP, Vista, 7, or 2000.
  • The following fully updated Windows 64-bit operating systems, for LAN-connected TalkSwitch units: XP, Vista, or 7. USB connection is not supported for Windows 64-bit operating systems.
  • Updated Java Runtime Environment (version 6 update 16 or higher)
  • 1 GHz processor
  • Windows 7 and Vista: 1 GB RAM; Windows XP and 2000: 512 MB RAM
  • 220MB Hard Disk Space
  • 1024x768 Screen Resolution
There is currently no support for Mac OS or Linux operating systems.
There is no support for operating systems no longer supported by Microsoft, such as Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows 95.



Updating from version 3.24 or earlier firmware and software


Updating your phone system to Release 6.12 firmware requires that your system is already running Release 3.24.29 firmware (originally included in 3.24.033 software) or later. If your system is running an earlier version of software than 3.24.033, click here to download 3.24.033 software (if needed), then use the software to update the TalkSwitch firmware to 3.24.29.

Once your TalkSwitch system is running 3.24.29 firmware (or higher), you can follow the steps to download and install Release 6.12.




TalkSwitch 48-NLS and TalkSwitch 24 incompatibility


If you have TalkSwitch 48-NLS or TalkSwitch 24 units DO NOT use this software. The application of this update to TalkSwitch 48-NLS or TalkSwitch 24 units invalidates any warranty and may result in phone system impairment.
