Which TalkSwitch system do I need?
Picking the right TalkSwitch system is easy. Just follow the steps
below to find the system that matches your needs.
Step 1: How many extensions do you need?
Does each employee need a phone? Do you need other phones,
such as a courtesy phone in your lobby? Add them up for the
number of extensions you need.
Step 2: How many lines do you need?
A good starting point is one line for every two phone users. You may need more or fewer,
based on how much you use the phone.
Your total number of lines is the maximum number of calls your system will handle at once.
If you expect to have lots of people on the phone at the same time,
you'll need more lines. Law offices, for example, typically get a
line for every phone user.
Step 3: Pick your system!
Once you know your line and extension needs, you pick the system
(or systems; you can combine up to four) and upgrades that will
match your needs.
There are three system models
| Model |
Telephone lines |
VoIP Trunks |
Extensions |
 |
| TalkSwitch 24vsx | 2 | 8 | 32 |
 |
| TalkSwitch 48vsx | 4 | 8 | 32 |
 |
| TalkSwitch 84vsx | 8 | 8 | 32 |
Up to 4 or 8 of each system's extensions can be analog phones, based on the number of analog
ports on the back of the system. The second number in the model name is the maximum
number of analog phones.
